The Palace of Versailles Part II - The Gardens

Palace of Versailles, Gardens, Versailles

On my previous travel post on the blog, I mentioned that we skipped the main palace and visited the gardens to beat the crowd. I was worried about the weather that day because the sky looked dark in the morning. Luckily for us, the sun came out and smiled upon us before noon! If you see the garden, you'll wish nothing but a good weather in order to enjoy it! I love the Palace but the gardens and park of the Palace of Versailles are something much more for me. I love nature and beautiful scenery, that's why when I saw the beautiful yard, I was completely mesmerized! It was just what I imagined, it was perfect! I am a bit sad that we did not see everything, it was a massive place that requires a lot of time to be explored. We wanted to visit the smaller palaces, therefore, there's a time constraint in visiting each part of the estate. There's a 2 Day passport ticket you can buy to fully enjoy your trip to the Palace of Versailles.

There was a  contemporary art exhibition by Anish Kapoor in the palace during our time of visit. His sculptures were displayed in the garden. I wasn't familiar with the artist, but his art works were interesting.

I'm a typical girl who extremely loves flowers. I was captivated by the beauty of the perfectly manicured blooming plant. This part of the garden in the Palace of Versailles was so stunning!

This historical place is really huge, it covers more than 2000 acres of land! This picture only shows the middle part of the garden.

Funny story, we thought that this was a trumpet! I felt like an idiot. LOL Turned out it was an sculpture of a vagina that made people in France mad. They found it outrageous to have such a piece of "art" in the Palace.

It was my happy place. Boyfriend took so many pictures of me. NO Shame!

You can also rent a boat and enjoy some time in the lake or sit down with your love ones and have a picnic.

On our way to Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon. We underestimated the distances between places. Our feet were aching after the whole trip! You have an option to rent electric vehicles or ride a shuttle train to save your feet some pain.

The garden is a beautiful magical place! I feel so blessed to experience such beauty in the Palace of Versailles. If you have the chance, visit it in the summer, apparently, the garden does not have the same charm in the colder months. I have a strong desire to go back someday because we didn't see everything. Versailles, I'll be back! :P  I will be sharing my experiences at  the Trianon Palace and the Queen's Hamlet on my next travel post, you'll surely fall in love with them :)
